Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project for Xbox Live Arcade.

After all the delays and controversy, Xbox 360 will finally see its first Duke Nukem action.

However, it’s not the canned Duke Nukem Forever that’s been heading Xbox 360’s way.

Doom II is Released to Xbox LIVE Arcade

Doom II expanded upon the white-knuckle excitement of the original Doom with an amazing assortment of additional weapons, monsters, and carnage-filled environments; it is now available on Xbox LIVE Arcade for 800 MS Points.

Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero Summer Song List is Released

Summer is here and it’s time for budding musicians to drop their school bags, pick up their axes, drum sticks and microphones and rock out to 18 hot new tracks for Activision Publishing, Inc.’s (Nasdaq: ATVI) Guitar Hero ® 5 and Band Hero . Featuring new music from Grammy® Award winners the Stone Temple Pilots, a host of exclusive soccer themed shredders from Steve Ouimette, a trio of anthems from the rock legend Alice Cooper and the downloadable content debut from pop punk act All Time Low, the Guitar Hero ® music library continues to provide music lovers and rhythm gamers with hours of nonstop entertainment.
Fresh off the release of their new self titled album, the Stone Temple Pilots are bringing their blend of modern alternative rock and hard rock to the Guitar Hero music library on June 1. The track pack, which will feature “Between The Lines,” their first single off Stone Temple Pilots, “Plush” and “Sex Type Thing,” two of the bands biggest hits off their platinum debut album, Core, is sure to satisfy Stone Temple Pilot and Guitar Hero fans alike.

To celebrate the kick off of the big soccer match, the most widely viewed sporting event in the world, Steve Ouimette returns to the Guitar Hero stage with a collection of rock-inspired national anthems recorded exclusively for the Guitar Hero music library. Beginning June 8, gamers can download the exclusive National Anthem Track Pack for free on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. The track pack includes “God Save the Queen (GH Version),” “Il Canto degli Italiani (GH Version),” “La Marseillaise (GH version),” “Lied der Deutschen (GH version),” “Marcha Real (GH version)” and “The Star-Spangled Banner (GH version).”

School’s out and it’s time to celebrate the arrival of summer with one of the greatest rock artists ever, Alice Cooper. Known for both his grand theatrical performances and eclectic music that spans multiple genres of rock and metal, the Guitar Hero music library is proud to deliver an incredible three song track pack featuring some of his biggest hits. On June 15, fans can enjoy the Alice Cooper Track Pack which features “I’m Eighteen,” off his first major label release album, Love It to Death, “School’s Out,” the 1972 hit single off his fifth album and “Welcome To My Nightmare,” the title track off his eighth studio album.

Making their Guitar Hero debut this June with a three song track pack featuring their catchy tunes and lyrics is pop punk band All Time Low. The All Time Low Track Pack, which is comprised of “Dear Maria, Count Me In,” off their second studio album, So Wrong, It’s Right, “Weightless,” from their third and highest charting album, Nothing Personal, and “Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don’t) (Live)” will be available on June 22.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 First Look

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed may be the fastest selling title LucasArts has ever done, but I found the game to be largely disappointing. The game had entertaining moments, and I totally dug the way it connected the first and last three movies of the film franchise, but the gameplay felt unrefined, and became a grinding, repetitive affair.

The Best Star Wars Games Ever Made

IGN is counting down the top titles in a franchise nearly as old as gaming itself.

Since 1983, Star Wars fans have been living out their far-far-away galactic fantasies in games. At times, those experiences have been nearly as transcendent as watching the films. Other times, well, not really (but more on that later). As much as Empire altered Star Wars forever, some games have forever left their mark on fans of the epic series. And we’re here to decide, once and for all, which deserve to sit at the very top of the Star Wars gaming pantheon.

Overlord DLC Overtaking Mass Effect 2

Bioware and Electronic Arts are bringing out the biggest content pack to Mass Effect 2 yet.

It’s called “Overlord” and will hit Xbox Live at a price point of 560 Microsoft Points sometime in June. From the EA Showcase in London, Executive Producer Casey Hudson said “it’s well over two hours of content, five new gameplay areas.

“DLC isn’t the end of the downloadable sequence of content that we have. We’re going to continue telling a story between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 using downloadable content.”

A Prince In The Making

The Prince of Persia series has been going strong for over two decades now, and in that time it has – obviously – evolved a great deal. How has it changed? How has the central protagonist – always known as the Prince, but not always the same character – evolved? We’re glad you asked…

The very first Prince of Persia game first came out on the Apple II back in 1989 and quickly came to be regarded as a classic. While the Prince didn’t have the range of moves modern players would be familiar with, he was impressive for the time, and able to jump gaps, climb up and lower himself down from ledges, and duel enemies with his sword. He was beautifully animated too, running, jumping, climbing and tip toeing with grace during his one hour quest to rescue his princess.
