Medal of Honor this fall
Afghanistan-set reboot of EA’s once-dominant shooter series arrives in North America on Oct. 12, Europe on Oct. 15.
Activision’s Call of Duty series has dominated the military first-person shooter space for the past several years, with Modern Warfare 2 racking up over $1 billion in sales before its developer was roiled by turmoil. Today the publisher announced that the game would ship on October 12 on the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 this autumn
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 will be kicking off this autumn, Konami confirmed today. The long-running football series is traditionally released in Europe at the end of October, though the Japanese publisher is yet to narrow the window for the 2010 release.

Alan Wake is Almost Here
It’s been a long wait for Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake, an action-thriller about a writer in search of his missing wife. The studio that built Max Payne and Max Payne 2 first talked about it back in 2005. In the years that followed the title seemed to fade into darkness. There was speculation about whether it would ever be finished and shipped at all, which all screeched to a halt at E3 2009 when the game was demoed at Microsoft’s press briefing.

Infinity Ward has been the center of turmoil within Activision since last month, when the publisher fired studio cofounders Jason West and Vince Zampella. They sued the company, which sued back, alleging that the pair had been plotting to start a new studio with chief Activision rival Electronic Arts. Within weeks of their termination, West and Zampella started a new studio with chief Activision rival Electronic Arts.
