Guitar Hero 5

Guitar Hero 5 is a music video game and the fifth main entry in the Guitar Hero series.

Living room legends will rock any way they want in Guitar Hero® 5. The entire set list is at your finger tips from the start, featuring genre-defining hits from some of the biggest rock artists and bands of all time, including The Rolling Stones, The White Stripes, Kings of Leon, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Santana and Vampire Weekend. You will take complete control as Guitar Hero 5 allows you to personalize and customize how you experience music by being able to play with any in-game instrument combination — multiple vocalists, guitarists, bassists and drummers, in any game mode

Similar to the previous title, Guitar Hero Metallica, Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero 5 is geared towards playing in an up to four person band experience: lead and bass guitar, drums, and vocal. New features have been added to the game from previous Guitar Hero games.

Game play in “Guitar Hero 5” will be like to that from GH World Tour. But, this version of the game will allow up to four players to any combination of instruments, including multiples of the same type. StarPower is no longer common by the band and instead tracked for every player in a similar way as another Xbox 360 game – Rock Band. A new play mechanic „Band Moments" will need all players of the band to play segments of a song successfully to achieve rewards. “The Band Revival” meter will show when a player fall short out of the song, need the other band members to play well as a group simultaneously in order to bring the failed player back into the game. The Career mode for the game will include any World Tour DLC that the team member could have. Bonus challenges in the game will reward the player with unlock able content when they are accomplished.

Few new features have been announced for the game. The first is a Party Play mode, which let for players to jump in into a band or drop out even in the middle of a song, and switch instrument or difficulty levels while playing. The second feature is a RockFest, which can be played by four players locally or online, with quite a few sub modes that influence how the game is played. Additional sub modes of RockFest include "Elimination" in which the most terrible player is dropped periodically, "Perfectionist" where only certain part of a song count towards points, "Do-or-Die" which forces a player to wait a succinct time if they fail a note, and "Streakers" that rewards the player for long strings of successive notes.

Guitar Hero 5 for Xbox 360 release date expected on September 1, 2009
